Just open the player and copy and paste your songs or video to it. That works on most mp4 players.

Also, you might want to check out the thread, "How to Remove a Memory Hack".

booboo773 27th Jul 2007 7:18 pm

What format are the songs you're using?

bclover4ever 27th Jul 2007 7:19 pm

ummm Mp3? is that what u mean?

Do u have any instant messengers?

jo gobel 27th Jul 2007 7:49 pm

first off, reformat your player following these directions if you havent already...

http://teekobeach.com/howtoreformattheplayer.html

if you have a hacked player, the playing issues your having will develop.

try that first and find out how much real memory you have and then open the "removeable disk F" or whatever it is, create a folder called "Music" and then upload your songs to it and go from there

The reason I ask is that some media like Real Player you have to convert the format. Real uses RealAudio {ra} and you have to convert it to MP3.

Sorry, I don't have messenger.

I'm not sure why it's not letting you copy and paste. What kind of MP4 player do you have?

bclover4ever 27th Jul 2007 7:54 pm

I am tryin to download the refomating thing and i tried to make a folder in the removable disk f but it wont let me.

I'd just got it today its called MP4 Digital Player.

ya i dont no why its really confussing me.

booboo773 27th Jul 2007 8:01 pm

Do you have a disc that came with it? If so, there should be something on there titled "MP Utilities 3.68" or something similar. The program MP3 Disk Tool is the one that will help you format your player. Follow the instructions posted here: How To Remove a Memory Hack.

Also, where did you get the player? If eBay, what seller? If you could put a link to it or a picture it might help us identify the player and come up with some solutions.

bclover4ever 27th Jul 2007 8:06 pm

I just did the whole format thing.

FYI, not all players come with that software. I just got mine today and the disk had nothing on there that is useful

booboo773 27th Jul 2007 8:17 pm

I have two similar to the one you bought. I haven't had any trouble copying music to either of them. Perhaps your player is defective? Have you tried contacting the seller and asking them if they have a solution? I checked toolhause.org and a couple of feedbacks on your seller had the same problem as you do.

bclover4ever 27th Jul 2007 8:18 pm

Here's what I do with mine step by step:

Go to the folder with all my music in it and click Edit and Select All and then Copy.

Go to My Computer and double click on Removable Disk F:

When that opens up Right Click and choose Paste.

My files start copying immediately without going through any other programs. I've never used Media Manager, Windows Media, or any other program to add music to my player.

On the videos, make sure you're using the AMV converter and when you add a file to it, click on the settings option and choose 128x128 and click box that says insert wave for not enough wave. Once it's converted, you should be able to copy and paste it like the music.

128x128 is the ideal full screen setting for a 1.5 inch screen and the wave option will increase the sound.

Once you get familiar with converting videos, you might want to download Virtual Dub. You can improve the video quality and increase the sound even more. There are plenty of filters to adjust the video to the way you want it.

bclover4ever 27th Jul 2007 8:26 pm

OK, on the videos, are you wanting to download a movie or music video? Converting videos takes a couple of more steps. Here's what I do with movies:

I download the movie to my computer using Magic DVD Ripper. Using the Convert option, I choose AVI(divx) and click start.

After the movie is saved, it's ready to be run thru the AMV converter. Follow the settings I listed above. 128X128 and wave for not enough wave.

You're welcome Sam. My name is Donna. If you ever have any questions, I'll help the best I can and if I can't, there are plenty of people on here more knowledgeable than me. I'm still an amateur compared to some of the other posters.

bclover4ever 27th Jul 2007 9:10 pm

Its telling me their is not enough space in the disk drive what the heck does that mean?

jo gobel 27th Jul 2007 9:16 pm

how many songs do you have on there now?

how big is the movie file?

bclover4ever 27th Jul 2007 9:19 pm

I looked on the mp4 player and it was like well though it was sendin the songs to the mp4 well it didnt i still ahev the songs in the removable disc F and i dont what to do????

I only have one song on the mp4 player and that was from doin from Windows media Player :(.

The music will go into the removable disc F and it looks like the Mp4 like connecting to it but then i check when i am done and their is nothing!

booboo773 28th Jul 2007 5:25 am

Bclover, did you get the songs to load onto the player? I saw on your post in the Hacked Player Thread that said you had 100 songs on it now? If that post is your problem now, check your PMs. I think I know the answer.

If the above post is still the problem, I'm not sure what the answer is and would recommend you contact your seller. If he doesn't help you, file a dispute in Paypal immediately listing the reason as Item Not as Described. Let us know what he says.

jo gobel 28th Jul 2007 6:42 am

i helped her last night via MSN Msgr and determined that its a 512mb hacked to show 4gb.

bclover4ever 28th Jul 2007 10:58 am

I have no idea what to do with Pay Pal i never filled like a claim thing before???

booboo773 28th Jul 2007 1:46 pm

Go to Paypal, click on the Resolution Center link and Click on Report a Problem, click on Item Dispute and continue. Enter the Transaction ID on the next screen, or select it from the drop down menu. The next screen should give you the option of what was wrong, click I received my item, but it was different option. Select Different model, version, or size under the Materially different category and I would type a note to the seller informing him that you know that it is a hacked memory. I can't tell you what comes up next, because I can't go any further. (Don't want to accidently file a dispute against someone).

Whatever you do, do not let the seller convince you that you did something wrong by formatting. The only reason sellers don't want you to format is because you find out their scam. Do not ship the item back at your cost. You won't see your money or another player most likely. What I would do is find out how much 512mb players are going for and ask the difference refunded.

mekako 31st Jul 2007 11:23 pm

Re the feedback on this seller! it none too good for me, and seems to be with some attitude, but no mention of a hacked player memory.

booboo773 1st Aug 2007 6:27 am

That's how my sellers where when I bought from them. I always check the feedback. They both had great feedback and then about a month or two later, the negatives started pouring in. Takes a while for people to figure out there's a problem, find out that it is hacked, and then find out that the seller isn't going to do anything about it.

If this is a good seller then maybe he got taken by his supplier, but I doubt it since he's trying to blame it on bclover for formatting. Looks pretty damned suspicious.

mekako 1st Aug 2007 3:30 pm

Yes I agree, but the seller also has stated to chuck the disc away if you don't use Windows 98, well we all know why this is, don't we?

I think perhaps he knows his players are hacked, and is trying to avoid the issue, and as you say put the blame on the customer for formatting the player.

It's not good enough to supply hacked players, and because you can't use the thing, you find yourself here asking for help.

Yes! and as you have advised it would be better to try with E Bay and Pay Pal to get some form of compensation, rather than send the player back, only for the seller to say after having inspected the player, that the customer has messed around with the firmware, so I'll null and void your warranty.

It would seem these sellers are getting very clever, and cover their ass very well indeed.

bclover4ever 2nd Aug 2007 12:25 pm

Ya i escalated it with Paypal 2 days ago.

mekako 2nd Aug 2007 3:16 pm

Good luck with it then, but if Pay Pal find in your favor, they will ask you to send the player back to the seller at your cost, with a tracking number supplied to Pay Pal.

bclover4ever 3rd Aug 2007 10:44 pm

i hope not i feel that i shouldnt have to pay for shipping for the item becasue it wasnt my fault he hacked me.

princessanne1026 25th Oct 2007 2:13 pm

bclover4ever - great to see a fellow Jerseyan on these boards! Did you ever manage to get your money back from the scamming seller?
