[solved] Cant upload some songs

Hello

I bought a 2GB MP4 player...and after formatting it was only 1GB...anyway

Now im having a problem is that when i upload some songs...some work and some doesnt go to the removable drive

i get an error when trying to send them to the player

the error says

Cannot copy Track 1: The file or directory cannot be created.


Now this is happening at the 560MB used space mark with 400MB left.

What might be the problem? why does it happen only that usage

Also, before few days when i first got it...i loaded it up with 800MB music and they were all working fine..

If it had a 512MB chip..then why does it say 1GB after i format it..and how come it worked in the first place and if it was 512MB i wouldnt be able to store upto 560MB

EDIT: Im close to solving the problem..when i put the songs in folders it seems to work..this might be the problem

Hi Skyline_man,

I know with some players, they have a display limit of 99 songs. But generally it still lets you copy it onto the player.

Does the filename of your songs have 'funny' characters in them? Any odd ball ones with shapes etc....?

You said you managed to get around it by putting it into folders, try putting 99 songs in one folder and see if that works, then add one more and see if that errors out.

I think each folder has a limit of 200 songs or something like that..

Anyway its working fine now....hope itl continue that way

Check and confirm if you can. I would be interested to know. The older firmware used to have a limit of 99 songs in one location, so if you can test it and it limits to 200, that's a nice improvement.
