Hmm, go under LCD set in the Setup menu, they should be there. ;)

Re: brightness level

that's the problem...i accessed setup>lcdset and the only available options are Darkmode and Exit....the screen is damn bright and I think it's eating up the playing time.

i accessed firmware version...it says

2006/10/30
9.0.5.0
2006/06/12
ACT2093_S75

is this firmware missing a brightness setting?anyone has the same problem as me?

Re: brightness level

Some 2nd generation clones dont have the brightness setting. The is nothing wrong with the firmware. If you try to upgrade or get another firmware you will kill your player.

You can turn off the screen while you are playing music or listening to the radio.

Use the dark mode setting and set it to 5. The screen will go dark in 5 seconds. Setting dark mode to 0 will never turn the screen off. 30 seconds is to long, at least that's what Ive found.

So try 5 seconds. You will get a lot more playing time from your player.
