mohyom , all the 3 players you listed are likely to be Sunplus chipsets. Which at the moment are no tools available to fix them.

i'll suggest that you contact your seller for an exchange if they are still under warranty.

Hi, I just bought the same ipod clone as some of you did, 3 weeks ago while i was in China -Shenzhen - was my first time there. I was happy and surprised to find this week that there was a forum on this! Anyway, this ipod clone has a camera that works occasionally but sometimes has initialisation error. Not only that, the pictures I took using the camera is not visible in the folder when connected to the PC under winxp though it is visible on the ipod clone itself. Another thing is the flash does not work too. anybody experiences these problems and does the firmware by sableroku/lontu corrects this?

oh yes, I also bought another player similar to mohyom's(1st pic with many buttons). Was quite disappointed in it - got lots of bugs! When playing from one mp3 song to another, there's a loud pop and it cannot output to TV though it comes with a S-video cable. I do hope sunplus comes up with some firmware update. If I knew of this forum earlier, I wouldn't have gotten it!

blurnewbie , firmware "upgrading" is never recommended. Most cases, users would end up flashing a wrong firmware and brick their players instead.

There really isin't any after-sales support or firmware updates from these manufacturers. So you'll be pretty much end up with what you are currently having for some time. I have a player (similar to mohyom's 2nd player) with the AV out socket, and I can't get the video to work too, could only get the sound to play on the TV, but no images. However, it really isin't much of an issue as the video quality would not be that good anyway, would be heavily pixelated i reckon. The AV out option on my other ipod video 30GB produces a less than average video quality on the TV.

Yes I have to agree with you after having read so many cases of dead players! Think I will just have to accept the player as it is for the time being but humans being humans, sometimes it's hard to resist trying to improve what one has

petrybr , the only way to know if a player is hacked or not is by formatting or by verifying the memory chip's serial number.
