Player sees only 121 songs
 

Hi I bought this 8gb player but it says it has only stored 121 songs while I uploaded more than 200 songs. It doesn't matter how many songs I store it says 121 songs and plays only 121 songs. Is this s firmware problem or a problem in the flash-chip. Hope anybody van help me fast, I am going on holiday next monday and like to take it with me.

Welcome to the forum. You will need to reformat your player. The instructions are here:

Your players memory is hacked. That is where you get a player that is advertised as 8GB but really it only has 1GB or less. There is a file on it that spoofs or tricks windows and the player to show the advertised capacity and not the real capacity.

The way to remove the file and get the real memory capacity is by reformating it.

Where did you buy it from and if it was eBay, what's the sellers eBay name?

Yep bought it from Ebay. Seller was Maryclassic. IT only sees 121 songs in the player but when I connect it to my computer it says 8gb storage.

MrUnlimited , format your player as mentioned by ashley_rb and you'll get the actual storage capacity.

I just won a 8GB player from maryclassic on ebay and I have to send payment this friday but after reading this post and others on this site i feel hesitant. what should I do? I emailed maryclassic and and asked if it was truly 8gb, which i guess from what im reading this forum will be a no, but I have yet to receive a response. should i take this up with ebay and cancel my win?

I would. I checked maryclassic out on Toolhaus. Loads of negative feedback for hacked players.

I like to keep the 8gb storage

Ok I removed the hack it seems to e a 1gb memoryplayer. I signed the petition cause I feel F*CKED up by Maryclassic.

wow, I guess I will cancel my ebay transaction. so can anyone sugest a player that is either 4 or 8 gb at around 60$ and has like a 2 inch screen and plays video and uses rechargeable phone battery? I see ths site has a section for a site uxcell.com should I order from them?

Cancel the payment as quick as you can and look for a better player which is not hack. I suggest players with a sd/mmc slot in it so you can expand the memory yourself

UX Cell is a good seller from what I've read. You're not going to find an 8gb player for $60. If you do, it will be hacked. The only player I know of that takes has a removable phone battery is the Glacier. UXCell has 4gb ones on their website for $76.99.

thanks for the info booboo. I received an email from "Maryclassic" or "may classic" as the broken english email states, and they said they will send an email to mutualy retract the transaction. I actualy ended up buying a PSP on ebay. In a few weeks when i get some money again I am thinking of getting the "Black Pearl" they are selling on uxcell, anyone have any good luck with that model?
