lamedcodesh , try using another USB cable, or another USB port. Also, try connecting the player to another computer and see if it detects. Avoid using a USB hub if you are using one.

Besides the connectivity problem, does the player function properly?

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

lattesurf ... the player works well.. its a new player, i get it by ebay.com
and it has two songs and also a video and i can watch the video and listen to the songs too so i think the player is not out of order and also i use the USB cable to charge the player.. but thatīs just the problem... i can not get that the computer detecs the player... i just came from another computer and i had the same problem...
someone told me that maybe the player does not work well so i have to get another one but i do not think so...
i just want to know how can i solve this trouble with the detection of the player to the computer... do you think i have to buy another one?

lamedcodesh , there are a few possibilities for the problem.
The USB cable might be damaged.
The player's USB socket is damaged.
Some component in the player is missing/damaged.

i'll suggest you open the player and a do a visual check of any loose/broken solder especially around the USB socket area.
