blue screen with the timer icon, PC doesn't detect it

Hi everyone.
I bought an MP4 player a couple of weeks ago from ebay. The MP4 player worked fine until yesterday. I pressed the ON button and it came up with the blue screen with the timer icon, it stays at that screen until you turn it off. My PC doesnt read it either. I think i charged it too much. Can anyone help me?

Obzdadon , do you still remember your previous working firmware version? If not, you'll need to open the player to identify the processor's serial number (eg ATJ2091, ATJ2085, etc).

My firmware version is ACT2097.
Sometimes i try turning it on and off and the movie option works, but the Music option doesn't. I was able to check the firmware version.

Probably your cable. I had this same problem. Take the cover off the connector on the usb end of the cable (the one that connects to the computer) and check the connection to each wire. Resolder if necessary, or swap with a good cable if you can find one.

Reading your second post, I doubt the cable is the problem. Never mind  But I did have to resolder my cable the fist day I owned my player. The symptoms were a blue screen with the hourglass when connected to the computer.

Obzdadon , intermittent function of the player tells me that either your firmware is corrupt, memory is hacked, or simply some component is damaged or the solder for it has cracked/broken.

i'll suggest a format with MP3 Utilities Disk Tools first, guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html
