Re: Distorted Sound on 2Gb MP4 Player
Hi buddy,
Thanks for the advice...are you ready for the next problem? All that came on the CD was a pdf version of the manual (utter trash), the firmware file and a folder containing Win98 drivers (who uses win98 these days?). I've emailed tech support at the multitech website but i don't hold out much hope. Unless you know of somewhere i can else i can get the consumerupdate software i'm stuck until multitec get back to me - i'll keep you posted. |

Re: Distorted Sound on 2Gb MP4 Player
I try to load the rfw file into it and it gives me the following error:
"This FW is not match this tool!" I unrared the consumerupdate file, double left clicked on the "consumer firmware writer", then click open and selected the rfw file. Thats when i get the error message. Am i missing the point or just being a complete mong??? |
Re: Distorted Sound on 2Gb MP4 Player
No it's just there are about 5 different versions of ConsumerUpdate too!
Because you didn't get it on the cd we don't know which one it is. here is another ConsumerUpdate to try:- http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...276-df612.html That's the version that came with my player, don't use my firmware though, only use the firmware that came on your disk my firmware will brick your player! Mine player has a 2" screen yours is different so just use the 2.7.6 version of consumerUpdate |
First of all, this isn't a firmware issue at all!!!
It's the headphone jack at fault. Try different headphones, try not plugging the headphones fully, bend the connectors properly and check the soldering, redo it too if necessary. Whatever you do, don't upgrade the firmware. It won't fix it. |
i have a hunch that some component is damaged in it, maybe some capacitors or resistors.

Re: Distorted Sound on 2Gb MP4 Player
Well it's always worth a try rechecking the soldering first.
I have found however that if you have the wrong firmware loaded on a Rockchip player it can have quite an effect on the hardware too. From what i can gather this player has never worked correctly so it may even have had the wrong firmware already loaded on it. Loading the wrong firmware on my player I have had the following happen, loss of screen, buttons mixed up, distorted sound, lines on screen and corrupted flash memory, another user has reported loss of his loud speaker so it's a risky business. Still if the player doesn't properly it worth looking at everthing. hope you can get it back, it's a nice looking player. |
Re: Distorted Sound on 2Gb MP4 Player
Hi buddy,
Had a very busy day today upgrading to a new computer system at work so i've only just been able to try the other version. No joy with that one either - same error message. I'm gonna google it and see if i can find any other versions - multitech haven't responded yet either. cheers mate. |
