Plugged into USB port and get a "Device Not Recognized&
 

I just got my player from uxcell, overall it looks like a great player, however the one issue i have is that when i plug it into my USB port i get a "Device Not Recognized" error. I have tried this on 2 separate computers with the same result. Any suggestions on how i can fix this issue? Is there a way to do a hard reset on the device or such to try to get this to be recognized in windows?

I had the same problem. You have to setup the ConsumerUpdate tool from the installation CD that came with the player. If you you haven't already done so, do not upgrade your firmware because it will kill your speakers.

Has it always happened or only just started recently?

What operating system are you plugging your player into?

Do you have a spare USB cable that you can try instead?

I just bought the player and i have never plugged it in before. One thing i noticed is that when i plug it in it would show charging not the PC connect screen. After fiddling with it a bit what i found worked was when the player is off, if i plug it into the USB port it would turn on and it went to the PC connect screen. After i did this every time there after it has worked no problem on all 3 pcs i have tried it on.
