Unlock a locked MP4 player
 

My little sister accidentally locked her Mp4 player and it will either not let her turn it off (a lock comes up) or it won't turn on.

It was given to her so there's no manual and it looks like a generic player.

How do I unlock it. Thanks in advanced.

It's supposed that there is no Hold key :)

Then do as it's done in my DAP... while pressing PLAY button, press the left side of POWER button, it should appear the lock/unlock screen. It's tricky because it pauses playing, then do it returning from pause to keep playing.

I don't think there is a Hold button, there's an on-off switch (which is on) and the PLAY button is also the POWER button so I can't do what you said.

It's unlocked when connected to the computer with the USB but as soon as I disconnected it and try to turn it off it goes back to the 'lock' screen.

It's a pity it didn't work...
Let us know if you get some result trying some combinations with available buttons.

try turning it off at the main power switch then back on because most mpx players forget their settings when you use the main switch.

If you follow the guide about hacked memory, it could work too, because when that happens I generally have to configure my settings...

Try the suggestions mentioned above. What you could also try is to press and hold down on ALL the buttons instead (one at a time) as one of them might be the 'unlock' button.

I have a new player and at the very bottom of the player is a tiny button which is the lock/unlock button if you hold it down a few seconds.

Try pressing and hold Menu and play buttons both for 10sec
