Default improve FM reception


i own a ipod 2nd gen clone and the FM reception is so-so....I read in this site the other day,a member with the username th3 uniqu3 i think...he added wires to the FM chip of his player and that improved the reception....i was wondering if is it possible to do that with my player? thanks if it is possible i would love to know how...

Of course it's possible with your player as well. Just solder an insulated piece of wire, as long as possible, to the ground connection of your earphone jack.

The ground is the topmost solder point on the jack, close to the side you plug the earphones in. The other two points under it are for the left and right channels.

If you're in any doubt about the solder points, just post a photo of your disassembled player (back side) and i will show you where you have to attach the wire.

A longer headphone cable will also work well for this purpose.

It sure will, but it won't help if the player has an integrated speaker as the radio still won't play without earphones connected. :P

Yup, because the darn software doesn't feed the speaker. The firmware is made like that. If it was a simple switch in the socket it would work but it is stopped via software so we can't do much about it.
