Glacier malfunctioning
Hi to all, sorry for my bad English, Ive some question for the expert collaborator of the forum.
After bad experiences with nano clone palyers (bad fuctionalities and dead players, I bought from Uxcell a 2gb glacier player. What I like in it is the nokia cell battery so I bought also a table charger and a new battery to be sure to go on with the music all the time I want. My wife has a nano clone with 2 or 3 hours battry duration and when she was skiing often she remained without music. So my glacier became her player :-( I've decided to buy a new one (2gb) and now the problems. The first player still works but you must be careful to manage it because there must be some contact from the earphone. When I move the earphone sometimes the player switch off. The second problem is related to the new one. I red some topics on the forum so I've understood that also if Win recognize as a 2gb the player, it isn't sure that this is the real capacity. I'm not sure but I believe that at a firs glance I could fill and listen to the player for more than 1gb but then when connectiong to the pc it was not recognized and I formatted it as FAT32 and now it works as a 512mb. Now the second question: there is a way to understand, without opening the player, if it's a fake ot it can work as a 2gb ? Otherwise it's possible to reconfigure the player to let the pc to recognize it as the correct size and to load it without exceedinf the real capacity ? Thank you to every helping hand brignuca |
Follow the "How To Remove Memory Hack" guide in this forum to format the unit to its real capacity. ;)

thank you Th3_uN1Qu3 I'll go to search the guide

Bad news. I've tried with the guide but at the 3rd step the resukting capacity it's only 103mb and the setting encrypted ony 86mb. I tried but the process stopped after that the player has been disconnected :-)
What can I do ? |
Now I've restarted my pc and the player from windows seem to be 17,7mb ! I've lost about 90mb ! Trying to restart the process shown in the guide it doesn't start :-((
Is there anybody that has ever seen this case before ? |
brignuca , i'll suggest that you repeat the whole formatting guide again. Be sure to slide the slider to the Left when in the Partition & Encrypt tab.
You might want to change to another USB cable, just in case the previous one is faulty. |
Hi lattesurf, thank you for your answer. I believe that what you suggest is not possible. I've tried the procedure 3 times after the breakdown, also on a different pc but everytime the utilities show to me a capacity of 103mb and windows on 17mb
When I try to start the procedure in the "Partition & Encrypt" part all the fields are available, I don't fill them but when I push the start button nothing happens. What do you suggest ? Have I to put on my desk as a toy or I can try to give back to the seller (I bought it in jube by uxcell and I've received it at the end of july) Thank for the help |
brignuca , go to the System/Settings menu, then select Online Mode, next chose Normal Only.
Reconnect your player via USB, and now check that the removable drive on your computer is 103MB rather than 17.7MB. i'll suggest that you contact uxcell for an exchange, as the memory had been hacked. |
I've already done what you are suggesting, this is the same (online mode) that uxcell suggested to me. I've tried oanother time with the recovery procedure and also this time after disconnecting the player it remains with the active hourglass :-((
I hope that uxcell would replace my player becaus 17mb is useful only as a radio ! |
brignuca , rather than wasting time trying to fix the player, i'll suggest that you get the player exchanged. As even if you manage to fix the player to display 128MB, it is still not what you have paid for, and would still result in an exchange.
