Confirmed 2GB player not accepting 2GB of files

I bought a MP4 player off of ebay and of course it had a memory hack on it, I went through the process of removing the hack and found that it has 2GB of memory instead of the 4GB I paid for (I got half my money back). Today I opened up the player and checked the chip number and confirmed that it is in fact a 2GB chip. I've had this MP4 player for a few months now and just recently tried loading it up with the full 2GB of files its supposed to be able to hold but when I get up to about 633MB I get this error "Cannot copy 'filename': The directory or file cannot be created". I've tried formatting the player but I haven't tried changing the firmware. Any suggestions on what might fix this?

celestexvi , try copying the files into another folder. Some of these players have a limit of 99 files per folder. You might have tried to copy more than the 99files, which results in the error. So try creating multiple folders and copy the others files in those new folders.

Also note that of your 2GB memory chip, approximately 10M of that is used by firmware, there is another 40M for the filesystem overhead, leaving ~1950M for user storage.
