How Do I change the startup picture & A dog on my LCDscr

Can I change these pictures or are they burned in the firmware?

Txs and I am new to the MP4 player

powerwoofer , firstly you'll need to identify the player's firmware version. Go to the System/Settings menu, select Firmware Version/Info. What does it display?

Re: How Do I change the startup picture & A dog on my LC

I want to change the icons on my firmware. I have no idea how to do this. i just joined today. I have a nano clone with 9.0.50 firmware and i have a 1.8 screen plz helppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!

csteinmetz1 , unfortunately the v9.0.50 is not supported by any firmware extraction tool at the moment. So without your own extracted firmware, it is very risky to flash someone else's themed firmware into your player.

The player i am putting it on i don't need any more. i paied $10 dollars for it. Is there any posable way to do it even if it is not safe.

I want to know how to make my own themes. what programs would i use thanks again

** Warning, this is for adventurous people only. **

csteinmetz1 , if that's the case, you can use the v9.0.50 firmwares here http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-9...ware-dc37.html

Just download any firmware that your feel is almost similar to your player, and modify it.

To modify, use S1res tool, guide is here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-mo...ool-vt206.html

Once done, flash the modified firmware into your player, guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-up...ayer-vt46.html

If it is compatible, the player would startup with a new theme. However, mostly likely 99.9% you would brick it instead.

Either way, to save your time, i'll suggest that you download and flash the firmwares in directly rather than wasting time theming and then flashing. If the firmware does not work in the first place, there's no point theming it.

I tired the program you listed. It works until it shows me this message:the system cannot read from the sepcified drive. what do i do.

lattesurf 14th Sep 2007 5:58 pm

csteinmetz1 , which program are you referring to? The S1res tool?

csteinmetz1 15th Sep 2007 4:37 am

When i try to open the firmware in S1res it tell me that it is the wrong format.

lattesurf 15th Sep 2007 7:39 am

csteinmetz1 , what file format are those files you are trying to load? They need to be in .bin or .fw format.

The files downloaded from the downloads section are usually compressed using 7zip or winrar software, which you can download and use for free. So you'll need to uncompress them first before you can use them on S1res.

csteinmetz1 15th Sep 2007 7:42 am

i extracted them and they were .bin files. I also tried downloading another one and it still did not work. What do i do?? Thanks

lattesurf 15th Sep 2007 7:58 am

csteinmetz1 , if i'm not wrong, they are incomplete dump files created from S1fwx, which can't be used for anything really. As S1fwx does not support anything above v9.0.43, most files would not be extracted properly.

Try other files instead. If the dump file could be used, it would be loaded into S1res properly.
