IPOD Nano copy 8GB, firmware Chip Hynix HY27UF081G2A

Hi LIST,

MY war agaisnt a SELLER scammer at DHGATE.com called cjh18shoes WAS IN VAIN..only partial refund was all I could get..

But the worst of all was to have the item dead . At first, I had problems to transfer files... then , I tried to transfer a full file near 6GB and the ipod crashed.Bit before I had formatted and I found a bizarre information..the PC viewed my ipod copy as TWO mass storages devices as partitions ..one with 8GB and the other one with only 2 MB ...no mistake .it was TWO MEGA indeed.

The result was a blue screen with the sand clock ......after inumerous attemptings to try to get the correct firmware on the web my ipod nano copy now does not even light the display..its dead..black...no firmware is compatible.. The only good thing is that the ipod is recognized AS ADFU ie its in recovery mode..but what diffierence woudl it make? It doesnt make things easier . Please help me , I need the right firmware for the Chip Hynix HY27UF081G2A, TPCB 713( I cannot read anything elsebecause theres aglue on the topof the chip..besides that the installation CD had a torjan..UNBELIEVABLE)

I use the mp3s to work...So i Urge to have it fixed asap .PLEASE

I cannot find any help in my country ,BRAZIL or any where else. ALlI hear is to throw it away...but ihad costme150USD plus ( imporitng fees and VAT included and its alotofmoney for me. I hope to have some Light of Inspiration, Tip from the moderators and the big ones here and finally get the firmware that willl make my chinipod nano back to live again...

Thanks very much and please..be aware of that scammer ..its not only EBAY that has bad sellers...in particular if you are a distant buyer ,they dont replace and at maximum you can get is a partial refund.Still the website and seller make money on you,

Well this is my ipod situation and Im hoping that someone out there may help me as quickly as possible. Thanks in advance.

lattesurf 13th Sep 2007 1:26 am

zerio , very sorry to hear about this. But the worst news is that the Hynix HY27UF081G2A is only a 1Gigabit (128MegaByte) memory chip.

Locate the other square black chip, 2nd largest in size, the serial number should be something like ATJ2085, ATJ2097, etc. You'll need this locate a possible group of firmwares.

zerio 13th Sep 2007 10:56 am

Hi Lattesurf

Thanks for yourposting.

I could tell right away there was something wrong and then I found it was only 1GB .the seller is a thief indeed. Worstofallthey change names , have false statments...best of allis tocontact the smallmanufacturers that sell sample items..youpay a bit more than forabulkorderbut its much trustworrth or youbuy from reliable realplaces...

So, I have to find a way to remove the glue on the topofthis 2nd chip totry toread the ATTwatever...Ill try to do that... hope some one can send me the firmware as soon as I getit.

Thanks indeed.Take care.

HI Lattesurf, Hi List !

The information youneed is: ATJ2091N and then theres another . ( I dont think this oneis relevant,is it?) FB181DB196

Anyway, the ipodis recognized in ADFU mode , does it make unnecessary to provoke the short cut on the chip whileitem isUSB plugged? Im asking it because there s no way to unplug the tiny battery and I would have no way to put the battery backon if I cut the tiny wires. Thus,I hopenow with this information someone can really help me now.

Thanks a lot, in advance.

lattesurf 14th Sep 2007 8:08 am

zerio , you'll be needing the v9.0.xx series firmwares here http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-9...ware-dc37.html

Install MP3 Utilities and start the Upgrade Tool, there are many versions in the downloads section. See if the software detects your player.

If it does, then you'll need to try all the firmwares for your screen size until you get a working one.

Hi again

Things got out of control trying the FWs suggested..now the Ipod has the display on..ONLY WHITE..;;;but no function and the PC does not recognize the ipod...not even is seen as ADFU....ie its dead indeed and I am dead LOST..:-(((

HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP ME PLEASE!!!

lattesurf 14th Sep 2007 5:16 pm

zerio , the last firmware that you tried to flash into the player probably totally disabled the whole player. Which in this case, you'll need to perform the Dead Player Recovery Guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/dead-play...ide-vt567.html

This would reinstall the player as ADFU, which would allow you to continue trying other firmwares again.

Hi lattesurf.. and LIST

First of all the board is ATJ2091N FB181DB196.

My big doubt is how to drag the screwdriver to cause the shortcut...is one screw drive dragging only one side of the chipīs pins and then todo the samething in the other side correct? This is not clear to me. OR, Shall I cause short cut amongst pins from each sideof the CHIP simultaneously?

Please could you clarify the short cut process regarding the shortcut process itself? ....ie shal the shortcut be made with a pin from each side of the chip or I can drag and cause the shortcut from one side of the chip and then the other side of it . The shorcut is caused by draggging pins from each simultaneously or pins fromthe same side cause shortcut either? Thanks indeed.

lattesurf 15th Sep 2007 7:37 am

zerio , now i'm confused. If your player is a nano clone, then the screen has got to be at least 1.2" (128x96), 1.5" (128x128), 1.8" (128x160), 2.0" (220x176).

If it's 128x32, then it could only be the monochromatic screens, which the firmwares on this site do not work. You'll need to verify your screen size first. A picture of the actual player would be good.

Regarding the shorting of the pins, it is a trial and error method.
In some cases, you'll probably need to disconnect the battery. This can be done by cutting the wire or de-soldering the wire.
The USB cable would also need to be connected to your computer.
To short the pins, you'll need either a fine tweezer or simply a bent open paper-clip. Short the left and right side of the memory chip, 1 pair at a time.

What actually happens when you on the player or connect the player via USB, is that the player attempts to boot up. But with a wrong firmware installed, it is unable to boot up successfully. So internally, it is constantly "restarting" upto the point where it tries to load the firmware but finds it to be incompatible.

With the player unable to boot up properly, the computer is unable to detect it, which results in the drive not appearing and not being able to flash in any firmware.

So the shorting of the memory chip pins typically causes a read error on it. This would invoke a "restoring" state (i can't really remember, but it's sort of "factory reset"), that allows an installation of the ADFU server.

zerio 15th Sep 2007 9:06 am

Hello Lattersurf

Sorrry it was a mistake ,the screen is 1.8" (128x160) according to the ad,pleasecheck my mp3modelhere at:
http://www.dhgate.com/productdisplay...132f51bbc3178a

However believe it or not I had paid for the model shown here http://www.dhgate.com/productdisplay...13244d52bf314b all in al,besides getting an item different than I had paid for , the mp3 is hacked..the website where is listed is no good either..should make the sellerpay full refund but didnt.

BE CAREFUL WITH SUCH SELLER!!!!

So, I must get a little pair of scissors and short each pair composed by each pin from each side , I go and touch the firstleftpin with the firstright pin and so on ..CORRECT? ( sorry for the language barrier...)

I must tell you I cannot desolder the battery..this is impossible for rme..I dont have the apparatus to resolder the battery neither the hand skilll.

Thanks again

Thanks somuch for your help and patience.

lattesurf 15th Sep 2007 10:19 am

zerio , regarding the battery, perhaps leave it connected first and try the dead player recovery guide. See if with the battery connected, you are able to reboot the player.

zerio 15th Sep 2007 10:40 am

Hi depend on someone to borrow me the tiny screw drivers...toopen the ipod..I forgot to mention that in the lastest mp4brand FOSTONthey have the very same type of images, lay out..dontknwoif it couldhelpe me to get the correct FW but Id thought it was significant to share this info.

Thank you so very much , Il tell you if the battery has blown up oranything as soon as I do that...well..better LOL than tobe pissed and ruin out my days due to such a scammer.

Wish there were otther lists to bring out scammers who sell at other websites...ec21,tradekey,dhgate etcetc..scammer arelike roaches..they seen to be everywehre and to survive any attack.

See my post in DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE, with picture show where to short on the pins.

Only short the data lines, anything else can cause damage.

zerio 18th Sep 2007 1:25 pm

Wow

isnt it great! Iwasableto transform a supposed 8GB mp4 into a 103MB pen drive thatsitllpalys songs with problems... IN another words..NONE OF THE FWs Ive found in the entire internet works formy mp4...Now..I also got a white flash diaply ( like a strobe) what a visual effect...am so happy wioth allof those..I couldcjust @@@

ALL IN ALL.. I havenot been sucessful...the short is no longer a problem..but the FW is a big issue.

Pleasecan someone tell me why and if itis for real that Ive only gotamere 103MB?Orits due tot he wrong FW???

Here again disntant buddy helpers..

Let me post again my mp4 characterisitcs so someone can really help me:
COLOR DISPLAY 128X160
MEMORY CHIP HY27UF081G2A( so Id thought I should have , at least, 1GB of memory capacity).. TPCB 713A
The small board is ATJ2091N
FB181DB19G

Now, please, please, help me to solve the problem to get the most appropriated FW as I dotn have any hope to get the same one. Thank you inded.

lattesurf 18th Sep 2007 6:33 pm

zerio , the problem lies in that the firmware extraction tool currently supports upto v9.0.43 only. So others with working players are unable to dump their firmware for you to try. If you had tried all the available firmwares and none worked, then there is nothing much you can do.

Regarding the memory capacity, i've mentioned earlier (2nd post in this thread), that your player only has a 128MegaByte chip hacked to show 8GB. The Hynix HY27UF081G2A is a 1Gigabit, not 1GigaByte, which equals to 128MegaBytes. The player shorting removed the hack to reveal the actual capacity.

zerio 18th Sep 2007 7:42 pm

Dear Lattesurf

Im realy devasted with such a scam...Ipaid for8Gb and I got a dead128MB ...Ill keep checking but Im very inlcinatgedtoget a Zune30 bough from a reliable shop in the USA..It was all a big finaital impact, a bad headache and a waisteof energy and time that will never come back..
