Default New generic Rockchip interface ?????

We all know the generic tab interface from rockchip - see below for pic:

but i am increasingly seeing a new interface on generic, no-brand rockchip player - another pic below:

you tube video here of interface in action:

Video of new interface

so, anyone know anything.
is it just a GUI overhall?
or does this mean that there is a new rockchip chip out now,
Does anyone have one of these players with new interface, if so let us know if possible of any improvements changes

cheers

Don't think there is a new Rockchip, there are only 2602, 2606 and 2608 at the moment:-

Like the new interface though, I think the existing Rockchips are capable of a lot more yet.
I would like to see better handling of Id tags and album art.

thanks Knob - nice to speak to you again

yeah i agree the rockchips are much more capable, i think the likes of Teclast et al.. are doing a lot of improvements, i think (maybe wrong) that they have implemented flv support and other changes i can not remember now

the interface is alot better, got a unit coming from dealextreme for my daughter with the new GUI, so i will see first hand

BTW: killed a player using the Zarva firmware upgrade to try and eliminate the bad blocks problem - completely dead, wont even turn on!!! - could have been a defective unit though - just giving you the heads up

I did the same thing with the Zarva firmware, it went black screen instead of the usual "white" screen.

Did get it back again though, just switched the player on and off and reconnected the USB few times. and up loaded my working firmware, scared the hell out of me for a bit though.

New capabilities are:
audio: Support for APE and FLAC... OGG still not supported
video: Support for native FLV (no conversion)
FM: Support for external list of FM stations (FM.INI)

An existing capability not fully used is skinning.
All menus... like the one shown in this thread... can be easily changed as there is always a backup available for Teclast firmware.
In this site there is a long set of menus to install on a Rockchip device Rockchip menu 320x240

Thanks DaremoS: this is great development and shows what can be done with the Rockchips.

But, as Knob said, ID tags, album art and my personal one, playlists and music database are all things i am sure this chip can do - we wait and see.

shame that the extra developments are only for Teclast etc and not for the generic no-brand players.

i wonder actually that one of the reasons for the new interface is that rockchip has released a new standard firmware with these new developments built in!! - i will let you all know next week as i am due a new interface model for my daughter

cheers DaremoS - i have skinned my players many a time, of course you MUST have the right firmware, easy with Teclast of course as they provide firmware all the time

i originally thought that the new interface above was just that, someone skinning to look different but i have seen this interface on quite a few differnt sites now and on differnt players so i thought it may be an update from rockchip themselves.

of course it could just be that one factory has decided to make there players different, and then they apply that skin to whatever they make.

we will see, but i think we will see alot more players of all shapes and sizes with this interface

watch this space

Video posted by you show is not just menus but a complete new skinning... as it was for me the first version of Teclast I installed where all the screen were in red including a different font, unfortunately in their latest version (01.01.0009) reappear the ugly rockchip screens and fonts.
Do you know the brand / model of the player that show the old rockchip menu? The upper one in your picture.
