My MP4 player works fine, but certain things dont work! HELP

:!: I got my 2 GB mp4 player in the mail last week from eBay, and it is better than described, but some problems are present.
For one thing, it dumps all its memory every once in a while, saying
"disk error!" when I try to access them, meaning that I have to format it (FAT) every once in a while.
Second, When I try to play the games it comes with, THE DOWN KEY DOES NOT WORK! YOU CANT PLAY MINESWEEPER WITHOUT A DOWN KEY!!! :P :lol: :shock:
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!! I LOVE THE PLAYER BUT WANT TO USE IT PROPERLY! HELP!

Check for the installed firmware version number. You can do so by going to the System/Settings menu, then selecting Firmware Version. What does it say there?

Having 98.2% for a feedback score of 14845 doesn't look good at all.

I verified the memory capacity at 1.89 gigabytes, and the firmware version says:
