HOW TO CHECK FAKE FLASHES

hi dear alll dudes

i m new to this site...and found tht u guys r really doing a wondeful appreciatable job...
i have one problem and want some advise from u guys....hope i can get wonderful help as others got...

a week ago i bought flashes of samsung...i see on flash it is written K9G8G...which is common and i know it is fr 1 gb...
but the problem is when i bought i and paid money...but when i put it in my mp3 player..i found tht flash is 256MB...

tht means the printing on flash is fake...and everything is fake..i got cheated...
now this was the small loss for me bcoz i just bought 200 pcs...

but i want to get help from u guys tht everytime i need to buy flash for my mp3 players...so how can i check when i see the flash...is thr any device or any software by which i can check the flash is original or fake...

KEVIN , the only way to know for sure is to actually either format the player or open and check the memory chip's serial number.

But in your case, it seems that the serial number was modified, whether on purpose or not, i'm not sure.

So the best way would be format it using MP3 Utilities Disk Tools.

KEVIN , for a minute i thought you meant that you are purchasing the whole player, but seems that you are just purchasing the memory chip itself.

In this case, you'll probably need some nand flash reader equipment, like those that could program microcontroller chips but only checks the capacity. However, these don't come around easily, and probably would cost alot of money.

I guess the only way is to perhaps locate a reputable seller/distributor, so that they do not sell fake memory chips.

Format the NAND flash before use.

Also ensure "security partition disk function" is not enabled.
