George Samuel , also the time/date function is nonsense. If you notice, the time would gradually get out of sync after about a day or two.
If you want to keep the time/date running, you could only turn off the player using the Play button, rather than using the On/Off switch. As the On/Off switch would cut off the battery power and reset the time/date when you next switch it on.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
