Problems with buttons

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I'm not sure if firmware is my problem since I have never updated it or even touched it.

When I first bought my 1gb iPod nano lookalike mp4, the buttons worked perfectly, but now the function of the buttons always seem to change. For example:
Sometimes all of the buttons (except 'play') act as the Menu button and I can't select any songs or different menu options.
Sometimes all the buttons seem to work perfectly. I don't know what the problem is and I've only had it for about a month. If you need to know the firmware (just in case that is the problem), I will write it down when my player's buttons are working correctly.
I'm too scared to take apart my player and see if the hardware is a problem, but I will try that as a last resort if I have to.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

random0guy,

Try FORMATTING your player to see if that helps.

Let me know.

i recommend a format with mp3 utilities if your player is ACTIONS player...

u maybe also can do a full format with windows...perform full format not quick format

Re: Problems with buttons

I have a 2GB clone running firmware 9.1.53 and I have the same problem. I tried reformatting through Windows to no avail. The supplied utilities refused to format the drive.

Any other ideas?

Hi foboz,

Can you create a new thread for your question please? Your question is different from the original post in this thread so it would be great to keep it seperate.
