Default Player not charging

I have bought a player from ebay that had the following description / title - 8GB 2" TFT MP4 MP3HM FM PMP PLAYER USB NOKIA BATTERY. Firstly it arrived, then I removed the memory hack to find....... Oh joy I had 1 Gig of memory! I went down the complaint procedure, but as I only paid £1-00 ($2.00) for the player it's self, but the postage was £20.00 ($40.00) I would have to prove that the shipping was to over priced and the sellar is no longer registered @ ebay mvpmpx. Over the last few weeks I grew to accept my player and a new love blossemed .

Now my player will not charge. I have tried all the tips on this site ... Changed charges, leads ... used USB connection, but i get the same thing a message saying "Warning Switch ON" I switch it on and after about 5 secs of battery charging animation, it says charging complete. Now with this player having a removable battery I thought it maybe the battery so I removed the battery and retried it I get the same messages ... even the "charging complete" without a battery in. Anybody have any ideas... could it be a firmware issue or is the player knackered.

I look forward to your responses

kevlow , seems that perhaps some hardware component has failed in the player itself. What i could suggest is to open the player to check if the diode or any other component near the battery is damaged.

If you have a desktop charger for the Nokia battery, try charging the battery separately and see if a fully charged battery would be able to power the player normally.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
