mtntd , does the hourglass happen with any particular music file?

there arent any specific songs that it occurs to, the problem happens when i turn it on. on occasion it will turn on with no problem

mtntd , there are many causes for the hourglass error. It could be as simple as static, as these players have a tendency to restart or show the hourglass when static is present.
It could also be due to hacked memory, but likely it doesn't seem to be as the hourglass does not happen on any particular file.
Or it could be due to a hardware/firmware problem. Which in this case would be a problem to fix.

Re: hourglass.. but i only get it sometimes

thank you very much for the suggestions!

i have noticed that i usually have my cell phone & laptop around me so i will try to see if moving away from those things will help.

i do believe there is a memory hack because i have about 4 songs & 7 videos (of about 10mb) each on a supposed 1 gb player but it says ive used around 700 mb already.

thank you again for the help!i really appreciate it

i have tried that before, but strangely, it says that i have no device plugged in when i run the disk tool .. even though my computer recognizes it & has already assigned it a drive letter

mtntd , if you could access the player, go to the System/Settings Menu, and select Firmware Version. What does it say there?

act 2097.. etc.

was what it said last time i was able to check it. it wont leave the hourglass screen at the moment but i will try when i have a couple more min. to try to turn it on. do you need the rest of the numbers? but i am very sure act 2097 is correct

thank you again for your help & thank you to crazy.neo too

Maybe you are using a older version of MP3 Player Utilities that does not recognise your Player chipset... They do sometimes put the wrong disks within the boxes by mistake.
Download the latest version here:
http://www.mympxplayer.org/amv-conve...415-df635.html

If this doesn't work, your MP4 probably has a corrupted (not a hacked) flash memory that causes firmware corruption (the hourglass appearing randomly)...
If this is the case, i'm afraid you must switch your player for another one (assuming that you bought it off a store) for this problem to go away since it's probably a hardware fail rather than a simple firmware one... And you are screwed...
