Hi @ all,

first of all i´m sorry for my bad english, i´m german :wink:

I bought my Glacier-fake-MP4-Player 2 weeks ago and have it since 5 days.
But my USB-Cable is demaged and so i have tu wate until i have a new one.

But you can help me:
The Random mode is realy bad. The Player only plays a random Song of a Folder ... but i want that a random song of every mp3 of my player is played (omg what an eglish ^^)

the menu is ok but the details-settings are really bad. The Font-Color is green an the back-color is gray ... that doesn´t fit.

they are realy useful, but my firmware of the Player is ... weird. (my USB-Cable worked one time ... i don´t know why)

the manipulating tool says error.
so i don´t know what to do :(

midda , at the moment the firmware extraction tool S1fwx only supports upto v9.0.43, your player is using v9.0.50, so a working firmware dump could not be properly extracted.

The dump file that you previously extracted have many files missing, so you can't open it using S1res to theme it.

i'll suggest that you do not do anything to the firmware until it is supported by the extraction tool.

For the random playback, the player only supports random playback within a folder itself. You can't do it across a few folders.

Is there no way to shuffle all the files?
Perhaps if I create Playlists?

PS: Is there a possibility to change functions of the Player?
I know a lot about programming (vb), so can I somehow change/manipulate functions?

midda , there is no way to shuffle the files besides the Random function in the player, which only randomise playback in a folder. The player does not support playlists.

It is possible to re-program the firmware, however, without an extracted firmware, there is no way to modify it at all.

hi @ all, it´s me again.

my seller had sent me an new usb-Cabel finally.
But this didn´t work as well.^^
funnily enough the old USB-Cabel works suddenly.

But my question is something different.
1. Works s1fwx.exe proper on the firmware 9.0.50?

2. If I extract the actual firmware and select an older version, to manipulate it, can I reselect the "old" 9.0.50 Version and play it back on the player?
I only ask if something goes wrong or my seller wants the player back ...

3. How can I manipulate the firmware?
Don't get me wrong! I don´t want so change the style or something .. i whant to change the functions ... z.B. random mode , etc ....
- In which language is this firmware written? And how can I read it?

ur player firmware version is 9.0.50...and uses new hardwares...not like the old ones... 3.x.xx or even 9.0.43...so if u flash ur player with other firmware..it will no be compatible..the 9.0.50 cannot be extracted rightnow...by s1fwx.. otherwise if u create new program..hehe..

it´s me again ;P

i have found a way to bypass the "random-only-in-one-folder" problem. It istn´t the best way ... but a way ;-)

Because I really nead this function I´m up to write a program, that converts the files to the player and change the filenames.

Main-Folder: "C:\Stuff\Music"

in this folder are a lot of files.

\house\track123.mp3
\house\shittxyz.wav
\metal\steelica\white album\cd1\track1.mp3
\metal\mr qwertz\blubb-blubb.mp3
...

Every single file can be selected. Then every selected file will be renamed and copyed.

[house]track123.mp3
[house]schittxyz.wav
[metal][steelica][white album][cd1]track1.mp3
[metal][mr qwertz]blubb-blubb.mp3
...

now every file is in one folder, but the "folder-structure" ist still existing and can be reconverted to the old structure.

the program will be able to convert the files an copy them onto the player - and the other way round.
So if you have this structure "[metal][steelica][white album][cd1]track1.mp3" you can reconvert the file
to this structure "\metal\steelica\white album\cd1\track1.mp3"

Now my question to you lot:
Is there anybody interested in this program? Because I first planed to create it only in german ... but if there are some people who want this little program then I would implement a nother language too (english).

This program doesn´t need a installation ... you only have to install the VisualBasic runtimes ... that´s all.
so it´s portable and small (I reckon 90KB) :P - you can copy the program on your player and take it wherever you are going ... and if your friend whants your files you can convert them immediately.


If you have some other good ideas please let me know :-)

midda , there would be a problem that some players only support upto 99 files per folder. So even by renaming, you might be limited to only 99 files.

thanks for the answer. I have checked that ... my glacier-fake-player supports all files in one folder ... (tested with 500 files)

But you are right ... that´s a problem for other player´s .. but they should have a better random-function!?!

anyway .. i have created a "beta"-version and it works properly.
