will this mp3 charger work with my player?

I have an mp3 player that will charge with this charger that plugs into a socket:
Output: 5V 500 mA


I want to use a battery charger so I can take it on the road. This battery charger has one NiMH AA battery (1.2 V, approx 2650 mA). The charger can take a maximum of 310 mA (says on the box).

Will I be able to use the battery charger?
