ya i posted it in the first post and my sis used a hair dryer to dry it..........it's like, already dried. It's not like the whole player was soaked in water, just maybe a bit but now it's not functioning properly.

I am pretty sure I have seen those players for sale on TradeMe- did you buy it from TradeMe?
If so, ask the seller if they have any tips on what to do, you never know they might be generous and get it fixed for a small price. When you dried it was the player opened up? |
ya and no it's no on Trademe, i got it from Taiwan at a very cheap price. Well it really doesn't matter since i can always get cheap imported from Taiwan, or just buy on ChinaVasion.com or Mp4Nation.com, they have really good deals if u guys wanna look up there.
but right now, i just don't care about this player at all, my sister has a new one anyway, i just wanna try firmware experiment but i just need a few good tools and instructions and i can't find out which firmware i need. |
ok so i downloaded a few firmwares that i think is the one for the mp4, *220x176* and tried flashing them. 2 of them weren't usable with the firmware updater but the 3rd one did, i flashed it and i get a white screen.
So ya what now? It's even worse now, i need the proper firmware. Or is there a firmware dumping tool? I can try dumping the firmware off my own mp4 which is the same as my sister's. |
This is how to get into update mode,
All you do is this, 1) Switch the player OFF using the main on/off switch. 2) Hold down the "MENU" or the "PLAY" button and keep it held down.(try the other buttons if these dont work) 3) Connect the usb to the player. 4) Wait for about 10 seconds before releasing the button. 5) You should be now in "ROCK USB" upgrade mode 6) Then just start ConsumerUpdate and upload your firmware. here are selection of firmwares for 220x176 to try:- http://en.s1mp3.net/?action=browse&s...OCK2606%20Chip sorry to say that there is no firmware extractor for Rockchip firmware yet.... |
hi ya i did that, it updated the firmware and restarted my mp4 but i think the firmware isn't the correct one so when i start my mp4 it shows a white screen...........well either way, it's still screwed. Even when i haven't done this yet, i could navigate a bit on the menu and play the song and movie as if it was normal but after a few seconds the button keys stop responding and it just shuts down itself.........now it's just a white screen, no menu lol.
Well i'm still down to try out other solutions, i'm not in a panic right now, like i said this is just for fun and testing but it'll be awesome to get it working again, i just need the proper firmware and i've downloaded a lot of them and only one works with the firmware update program. Which is actually the one that came with the Consumer Update download....... |

A newer "Consumer Update" program is here:-
http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...ate-df665.html It will accept a wider range of firmware types if you want to give it a try: |
