ok i donwloaded the newest consumer updater, and ya some of the firmwares can be loaded now except i can't detect my mp4 anymore since i updated it just then in the above post and now i have a white screen...........i tried following the dead player guide and run the tweezer on the legs of the rockchip but it doesn't work since the chips are different and i don't see any legs, it's more like an integrated chip........well i tried putting the tweezer on parts where i think is suitable but still not working, if i plug in the usb my PC can still detect it and i can still use the storage system which is good cuz at least i still have one use of this player, but it doesn't detect with the consumer update now..

Re: Rockhip mp4 player update help needed
You need to be in RockUSB mode first to flash the firmware, you can still work with a white screen.
Double click on the remove hardware icon in your system tray. http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...lipboard01.jpg If you are in RockUSB mode you will see the icon in the window like this:- http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...lipboard03.jpg To get into RockUSb mode 1) switch the player off, using the proper on/off switch 2) hold down the menu button (try other buttons in turn if menu button don't work). 3) connect the USB cable from the PC 4) wait for a full 10 seconds with the button held down 5) look for the RockUSB icon. 6) then release the button 7) If you see the RockUSB icon, load the firmware for your player using Consumerupdate program. btw, if you want to try and match the EXACT firmware you need the serial number off the printed circuit board, mine was "ESR013-YD093_A_V2" for example, and type the first part e.g. "ESR013" into this search engine http://en.s1mp3.net/ |
well i did that at the first try be4 i had a white screen and it worked, i was in RockUSB mode and it updated my firmware etc etc, now, no matter what buttons i press, after waiting 10 secs and connecting the USB, it always detect my mp4 as USB but not ROCKUSB device.......i'll try again

Re: Rockhip mp4 player update help needed
Looks like the pin shorting hard recovery method is the only chance, do you have a chip on the pcb that looks like this?
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...ola/dead30.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...ola/dead12.jpg These are the pins posted on a chinese website which have been known to work if shorted out.. |
ya i tried that too but there's like, 4 legs or pins on all sides.........my camera isn't that good but here:
http://i32.tinypic.com/351tqf6.jpg http://i25.tinypic.com/ztccjn.jpg http://i30.tinypic.com/2njesma.jpg http://i25.tinypic.com/295g420.jpg also, don't know y but my previous message got deleted or something, so i'll type it again.......i checked my manual and it says hold the menu button to get in the RockUSB mode, the instruction is same as yours, so i did that and kept holding the button down but whenever i try connecting the usb, it always detect it as storage device instead of RockUsb........i also tried all the other buttons too but didn't work, it always shows a white screen when i connect.......... btw in my manual it also shows the disc contents, it comes with the drivers, avi converter, firmware updater and the firmware itself but on the actual disc i only have the converter and drivers, lol. I guess the other contents were taken off........ |
