PC does not read Mp4 player
Hope I am not repeating another post  Just curious, I have got an mp4 player and when I plug it into my laptop, my laptop doesn't read it. When I check in My computer, it does not show 'removable drive'. Also when the mp4 player is connected to the laptop, the player says 'switch on' which it is by the way and after a few seconds the player then starts charging. Yet still the computer cannot pick up the mp4. Also my laptop is windows XP home edition. I tried 3 different USB cords to connect the player and laptop, and still the same thing happens, I've also tested out the USB cord that came with the player with my mobile phone and it works fine. Now I've tried 3 different mp3/mp4 players and they all work fine with my computer yet this one particular player that I'm having problems with is not. I have emailed the seller my problems with the player and he suggest that my laptop may be at fault, could this be possible? Also has anyone else had this problem?
Mp4 player firmware 2006/12/28 9.1.51 2006/06/12 ACT2093_S75 Thanks for your time. |

Re: PC does not read Mp4 player
Hi Stanchu,
Thanks for that, I just tried that and still no luck. I checked thru device manager to see if all usb ports are in working order and yes they are so i'm still stumped  |
Hi devious99,
Given the troubleshooting you have already done, I would say the USB connector on the MP4 player is faulty. Some of the pins on the USB connector seems faulty. Some might work and so lets you charge your player, while the others are faulty so not transferring the information through the USB cable to your computer tell it that it has a USB device connected to it. If you've tried different USB cords and it's the same problem, then it's either the computer or MP4 player. If you've tested other players on your laptop and computer and they work fine, then it only leaves a problem with the MP4 player. If you email them the troubleshooting steps you just did and mentioned in your original post, to the seller, I would say, you should give the player replaced under warranty it seems the player is faulty. |

Hi Admin,
Thankyou so much for shedding some light on this problem. Will get back to the seller and suggest this. :) |
