Chargin Mp4 player Problem?

hi i have the following mp4 player from ebay....

4GB 1.8" LCD USB 2.0 Drive PMP FM MP4 MP3 Player RSS4

i got a replacement today as i bricked my other one and the guy sent me a replacement one...

i managed to check the firmware on it was 9.0.52 , previous one was 9.0.50...

however it seemed to be working fine and i havent updated the firmware or nothing but as it was chargin via the usb, the pc lost connection with the mp4 player.

i left it off for around 20minutes and tried switching it on. It loaded up with a blue screen and a hour glass. it got to the menu then the low battery logo comes up and it switches off. So i guess it needs chargin via usb, so wen i do plug in the usb and switch the player on the pc does not detect the player and it does not charge all i see is the blue screen and the hourglass and it flashes on and off..

i dont think it is bricked cus if i leave the player long enuff for half n hr unplugged den switch it on it does come on and go to menu but cus the battery is low it doesnt stay on for long.

ne ideas?

quick note: Mp3 player utilities software i tried that and it cud not detect it....also i noticed before it turned of that the battery bar was empty.. how long does a charge usually take? via usb? i also got a V3 motorola charger and that uses the same connector and outputs 5v. could i use that?

aznkix , likely the firmware is corrupted due to a memory hack. This seller has quite a number of negative feedbacks about selling hacked 8GB memory sticks. So i won't be surprised that your "4GB" was hacked too. Considering a 2GB chip costs about USD$28, and you paid about USD$37 for your player, it is extremely likely it is hacked, perhaps only a real 1GB.

i'll suggest that you get a full refund from your seller. As there are no known v9.0.50 firmware extraction tools at the moment, you'll probably be unable to recover your player.
