Default Upgrade 64mb Chip to 2GB chip?

hi, i wonder if any one has thought or come across anything like this...

I found a little USB flash memory stick the other was one i got from a university in one of there goody bags. It is a 64mb usb.

The other day i also found my old 2gb mp4 player the battery had died and it was a dead player. (accidental firmware downgrade)

now what i was thinkin is, is it possible to take the chip out my mp4 player n somehow recycle it so it can be used in my 64mb usb flash memory stick. Both chips r identical in shape and have the exact same number of pins. Can i jus mount one on top of each other n connect each pin of the 2gb chip to the 64mb chip?

im not much of a technician or electrican lol but i was jus sittin here thinkin about whether this is possbile or not?

ne ideas and has ne one come across ne guides on the net or nething?

thanx alot....

also thanx for the replies to my previous threads

aznkix , it generally could be done. What i'll suggest before doing so would be to look up the datasheets for both memory chips and ensure that each pin corresponds to each other with the same i/o function.

There is a very useful tutorial on S1mp3 wiki here http://wiki.s1mp3.org/How_to_add/change_a_memory_chip
Although it's adding/changing a memory chip on a player itself. But the theory is the same as for a removable flash device.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
