HELP PLEASE - Cannot play mp3, just sit's and hangs there ?
Hi All
Got myself a cheap 8G ipod clone which was working fine. When i try to acces music to play song it just shows the song and will not play ? If i press the centre button it says ' FORMAT ERROR' I am also unable to remove the music off it when connected to pc i get @file is corrupted and unreadable' Everything else seems to work fine, it just won't play mp3's it previousley would ? I then have to switch it off as it is stuck on some songs ? In the Firmware details it states - MP3 Player LKC_9112_V30 2007-08-31 9.1.52 2005-01-09 Any ideas what is wrong ? Thanks |
Re: HELP PLEASE - Cannot play mp3, just sit's and hangs ther
O.k. I have just tried putting an album in a folder onto it and it does not show on player. It shows on the player on my pc but when i open it it is all messed up and only 2 files ?
I tried putting a couple of single mp3 tracks directly onto it, they show on player but will not play as above. The battery indicator does not seem to be going up either ? Unplugged it and plugged back in and tried to lpay the single mp3's i just put on the player from pc and get this - M:\04 - Venus In Furs.mp3::Output Media Type 0: -------------------------- Unknown AM_MEDIA_TYPE: majortype: MEDIATYPE_Stream {E436EB83-524F-11CE-9F53-0020AF0BA770} subtype: MEDIASUBTYPE_MPEG1Audio {E436EB87-524F-11CE-9F53-0020AF0BA770} formattype: TIME_FORMAT_NONE {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} bFixedSizeSamples: 1 bTemporalCompression: 0 lSampleSize: 1 cbFormat: 0 Media Type 1: -------------------------- Unknown AM_MEDIA_TYPE: majortype: MEDIATYPE_Stream {E436EB83-524F-11CE-9F53-0020AF0BA770} subtype: TIME_FORMAT_NONE {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} formattype: TIME_FORMAT_NONE {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} bFixedSizeSamples: 1 bTemporalCompression: 0 lSampleSize: 1 cbFormat: 0 |
Hi, follow the instructions here: How To: Removing a Memory Hack
Your player is hacked to read more memory than what it is. When you copy anything over the real capacity, you will run into Format Errors. What happens is that it shows that you copied 8gb worth of data onto the player, but anything over the real memory is ghost files and doesn't really exist. Then when you try to play the songs you get the format error. |
