Default ME2 Mp3 Mp4 Battery

  I have bought 2 ME2 players for grandchildrens birthdays, I charged battery which took a few hours (must admit did not turn off, the slide button on the top), next morning turned on and all I got was the hour glass then zzzz and turned off, the battery showed no charge, I am recharging again.
Can anybody help.
Was it because I did not turn off, or is there something wrong with the battery and am I able to replace, I am desperate because their birthdays are not far off

Hi Ms Gloria,

You can try this: Look at the top of the players... There must be a sliding switch there. Drag it to on. Then insert the cable in the player and then in the charger and plug it in. The player's screen should lit up and you will get a message of some sort... Here on my player it says charging. The indicator LED from the charger should be red if all goes well or green if not. If the LEd is green, you can try to plug the cable with the player in the USB connector of your PC and it should charge as well. Let me know if it works .

Best regards.

I have similar problem with the battery.
I bought my ME2 used and it was charged somewhat when I received it.
I played for a day, I coauld turn it on next day but couldn't get into any function (even the system settings).
I then used the wall-plug to charge (wit the device turned on). Both red and green lights were on but green light turned off moments later (nothing showed up on screen), I let it charged for 5 hours (accroding to instruction book).

I could now get in the "play music" function for a while. Once I got out from "paly music" function I couldn't get in again.

I decided to use usb charge from Computer, this time a figure of empty battery showed up and flashing. About 5 or 10 minutes later the empty battery changed into solid battery and slow flashing.

I'll let it charge for another few hour to see if the solid battery will stop flashing.
Anyone understand this charging process ?

No, this is not good in my opinion. There's something wrong with the battery, maybe they are old. The best way is to let it charge as much as you can, because at some players, the battery indicator is broken and does not reflect the real charging process. Remember to turn the player on before charging. If this fails, you should contact your seller for a replacement or a refund.

Alex2pb or boonkang
I am not sure who will receive this reply, but will do as you both suggested.
First recharge through the PC, if that fails I will make contact with whom I purchased from (unfortunately through eBay) but I will give it a go and see if they will replace
I was hoping that I could just replace the battery, but it appears that is not possible
Thanks again
Gloria
