"Format Error"

Hi,

I'm facing a problem when I play MP3 and AMV files on my player (config is copied below). It was working well initially, but after a few transfers, the same songs when played now display "Format Error". I've tried formatting, but the problem persists.

My observation is this:

1) It seems like a random possibility. When I transfer song files singly, that is one at a time, most songs transfer well. when I do bulk transfer, most files give format error.

2) In case of transfers, one song at a time, if I get the error, then I try deleting and copying it again. So when copying a file repeatedly, it sometimes works but sometimes it doesn't.

Had there been truly a problem related to format, then it should have reproduced itself each time. But it doesn't. Probably it is something to do with the FAT format of the players. I suspect this because, when I format my player using the FORMAT command, cmd says that the cluster size (64k) is not appropraite for FAT, would you like to keep it? Also, it says, for drives >4 GB, FAT is not appropriate; by the way, I have a 4 GB player. Here is the config:

LG MP3 Player
LS101V12
CM70033
ACT_V9.0.50

Can any one help me troubleshoot this?

This sounds very much like a hacked memory player. See this topic about how to remove the hack: http://mympxplayer.org/how-to-removi...ck-vt2400.html

Simply put, a "hacked" memory, is taking a player with one size memory, and formatting it in an invalid way, so that the player appears to be larger than it actually is, and then selling the player as though it is this larger size. It is a fraud that is being perpetuated on eBay A LOT. Your "format errors" is a symptom that pretty much tells you that the memory is not properly being represented.

jcberedo , unfortunately the MP3 Utilities would only work on Actions chipset and not on Rockchip (like yours). In most cases, Rockchip players are seldom memory hacked.
