I have issues at work. For some reason, the unit gets assigned to a drive letter that is "normally" mapped to a network drive on my system. Not sure why, but it certainly does do that. If I unmount the network drive letter, the player is seen immediately.

One other thing to look at (but not sure in your case, as the PC sees the ADFU device), is that one some systems, the USB ports on the front of the computer simply does not like generic USB storage devices. Not sure why that is, but I have seen many systems where the front panel USB does not work, but plug it in the back, and it is seen every time.

rnume,

Try this:
  • Right mouse click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop in Windows.
  • Choose "Manage" from the menu.
  • On the left hand side column bar, under "Storage", choose "Disk Management".
  • On the right hand side, if all goes well, you should see an item called "Removable Disk" or similar.
  • If you see that, then it means Windows has picked it up but assigned it a drive letter that is already in use. All you need to do is right mouse click the drive, then choose "Change drive letter and path".
  • Then chose a drive letter that is not in use. All goes well, you should now see it in Windows Explorer
Try that and let me know what the outcome is. If you are still having a problem, can you post a screenshot of what "Disk Management" looks like on your computer?
