How do I check the chipset of the player?

Sure, as soon as I get home in about 5 hours.

Could this happen because I use some nonstandard XVID codec on my computer?

It is so... I can't recall which Xvid doesn't work in my players either... but...
using viDrop it should work as this program it's a front end of MEncoder, which is the standard for conversion of Chinese players as it is AVIConverter that comes bundled in the player.

Thanks for your help! Everything works fine now since I made a video that is precisely 320*240.

Strange the fact that in viDrop, the add borders function doesn't add borders and it doesn't make the video 320. Or I just don't understand it correctly.

Anyway, here is a video that works:

Excellent video I will put it in my Onda VX858 to listen to it... I am not sure if I'll be able to discover some out-of-synch in that slow motion movie... out-of-synch will be your next problem. :lol: :lol: :lol:

But I thought that the reason for this is slow memory cards. Or does it occur because of reduces fps?

Both... you've been reading here

... then you know that a rockchip can reach 25 fps reducing video bitrate... but 20 is the optimal

BTW, what kind of files do rockchip players usially read? In the chinese manual I found a mention of ASF amd WMV files, but the player refuses to play them(they are exactly 320*240). It doesn't play GIFs too.

Also, how can I change the boot up picture?

I've tried ASF & WMV never succeeding. It seems that the standard is windows media 8.
Anyway the formats playable are brand dependant... I can play FLV in my Teclast and Onda but not in an unbranded I had.

To mod your boot up picture you need the firmware of your player... do you have it?

Hi everyone, interesting reading. Looks as though my player is the same as yours. I did get a movie to convert using I think aviconverter 2 that came with the player. It was slightly out of sync with the audio so tried converter 3 which has now completely baffled me! I can't remember how I succesfully converted the first movie, I have tried numerous converters including the free trial of Xilisoft and winavi. Has anyone had any luck with these? All I now get after hours of messing about is 'file format error'. My player was bought here in the UK under the brand name of STAGE model numbet T407 if this helps.
