WMA format error
Hi all!! What a wonderful community I have found!!
Very new to this, but I have a problem with my "shanghai direct" that I cant seem to solve. My 4 gb player is great...all seems to be in order...but the thing just wont play any music in WMA format. Everything seems to indicate that it should support this format, but once loaded I just keep getting the message.."format error" and the song wont play. Any suggestions?? |
did you check and see if your player was "hacked"?
if not, do so, if it were hacked, that is most likely the cause of your errors. |
Thanks Jo!!! Ok..Have just followed all the instructions and removed the memory hack. I cant believe it...my
4 GB player has turned out to be only 960Mb!!!!!! And it still wont play WMA format!!! still getting "format error" if I try to play the song. Any suggestions on what to do now?? |
sammy , some players do not support .wma codec, does the normal .mp3 format play on your player?
Also, check that the wma bitrate is fixed (eg 96kbps etc). Sometimes VBR might cause such errors. |
CDex converter freeware from sourceforge is great.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdexos/ i have converted all wma/mp3's to 96kbs mp3 and i can put about 700 songs on a 2gb chipod |
