Default Firmware Backup without RISK !

well i have bought a mp4 player recently (1 GB).
I would like to back up my firmware but i dont want to risk of getting my player dead....i read many posts in this forum and i downloaded the software sw* something but i came to know that this software "MOVES" ur firmware to a file and u again have to "REPAIR" to make ur player work.

This is pretty risky cuz we have a lot of electriv breakdowns in my area and i m not fortunate enough my player may becom dead.

is there a safe way to do this ??

and when playing videos i cant fast forward it at greater than 2X speed..is there a firmware that can solve this..

by the way it plays .avi and mp4 files

afzal , it is likely that your player uses another chipset besides Actions. As it plays .avi and .mp4, likely to be perhaps Sunplus.

At the moment, there are only firmware extraction tools for Action chipsets. So you are unable extract any firmware from it. However, if you want a backup, search the CD that came with the player. Sometimes the firmware file might be in it.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
