ONDA 858le MP4 help
 

I got a new ONDA 858LE (FW 1.00.00.4) however the convertor software that it came with seem to be in Chinese and refuse to run on my PC. I have try using other encoder to convert my DVD to avi, divx, xvid. I have problem getting any of the files to play on the device.

What software should I use to convert avi/dvd to allow me to view on the player?

I hear you Ben , I am in the same boat. A little confused by this device. Music , pictures no problem. Movies so far a big hassle I tried the firm ware update no luck with that either.

you need to make sure that when you convert the video that you are converting to the proper resolution and to AVI. the vidrop software is very good, free, and quick.

try that.

Use the software that comes with the player.
Parameters you need to know if you use other encoder.

Screen resolution 320x240
Video codec: xvid
FPS: start with 20 FPS, you can go up to 25 FPS
Audio codec: MP2
Audio bitrate: start with 128, up to 256
Audio Sample rate: 44100 or 48000
