Please help identify my mp4 Player & upgrade firmware

I got a 4Gb mp4 player from eBay. I thought I was buying the "onda" as it looks identical but has no branding at all, here is the exact player I purchased: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=110191058714

I have taken some shots of it here:

I have been doing a bit of reading and from what I can gather this player uses the "rockwell" firmware? Anyway what I want to do is update the firmware to the latest version, can someone please show me how to do that?

Also I would like to know if it is genuine 4Gb as advertised. I tryed to follow this tutorial ... http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html but the problem I am having is at step 2 when switching to the Partition & Encryption tab I am unable to move ths slider at all and it just shows as 0Mb. I have however formated the player in windows xp using fat32 (as this is the only option) and the player indeed reads as 4Gb.

Thanks for your help guys, also it would be great to know what player I have ie, what make/model. I don't have a clue and it would be nice to visit the manufacturers site for more info, so if anyone knows how to get this info I would be very appreciative :)

One last thing I forgot to mention, how do I know the size that I need to convert video? I see that there are different sizes, eg is 220x176, what would be the best for a 2.8" screen?

Regards, Fig.

I cant help much, I just bought one from the same seller and recieved it 2 days ago. What I can tell you is the memory of 4gb seems legit. As far as the resolution 320x 240 no more the 22 fps. Or the sound will be off a tad from time to time.

I too need help updating the firmware, I go to setting and firmware it says to plug it in to the PC. Then my PC wants to install a driver. After that it fails to install. After that I am lost.

the way i understand it, please correct me if i am wrong, rockchip based players cannot be hacked, only action chips.

one way to find out if you have an unbranded onda is to take it apart.

however, what is your basis on wanting to change the firmware? is there something wrong with the player that you must update it? if it works, why update it? your not going to get much in terms of better software.
