mp4 watch

i have bought this mp4 watch. it works fine but are there any way for me to extract, modify or backup its firmware ? i have search through this site but there no topic about it. i have also tried the s1fwx software but nothing happens. this watch plays SMV video file format and from the about page, i only get its version number : "2.106". the 2nd website says "Firmware can be upgraded free from website" but how ? can anyone tell me please ? thanks.

Dont upgrade the firmware
Wrong firmware would give u a nice looking armband

that has no function in life
since it plays smv videos i guess that it is a sigmatel player and i dont think there are tools to extract the firmware yet (i think i might be wrong there)

Firmware on Sigmatel players can be extracted, i have one too and messed around with it a lot. They also can always be recovered from a bad flash if you got a working backup.

But if it ain't broken, don't try to fix it.

ah oh, i just want to backup the firmware and i want to know how the firmware looks like :wink: . anyway, can you tell me how to do so please ? i tried the s1fwx but always get "no device found". and the "Sigmatel Firmware Extractor" gives away this message :

Hi I have a mp4 watch 2gb like this...

I desperately need the firmware for this watch, as mine is dead, it recognizes as flash disk and when I put it in recovery mode it shows STMP3500 (I believe this is the chip in this watch)

If anyone has this watch can you please extract the firmware and send it to me?

where you bought the player, you can contact with the supplier and ask them to give your the firmware also advise how to do, it is more quicker to solve the problem and can avoid mistakes. As different mp4 watch may need different firmware
