MP34 Player, How to upgrade/theme firmware
 

Hello,

First of all I hope I am posting in the correct secton, if it isn't in the correct section mods feel free to move the thread. :)


Basically....

I have got a new black 2GB "MP34" player, which looks identical to the iPod nano. My sister also got one, but from a diffrent place - they look exactly the same (just) and the menu functions are almost identical.

I checked the firmwares on both and I have a newer firmware version than hers - mine does look better so I was wondering if I could change hers to get to mine - however I have had trouble searching for my firmware on the internet.

I downloaded a program s1fwx_v26 the other day and tried to extract the firmware using the guide - perhaps maybe I could have overwritted hers? Anyway, I found out that that specific cannot extract the firmware correctly as it comes up with errors.

Can anyone help me? To sum it up I have a better version firmware and I want my sister to have the same one as me... and I need help on how to do it.

TheWun , unfortunately firmware upgrading are never recommended as it would more likely brick the player rather than improving it.

These player require firmwares which are hardware specific. As manufacturers find cheaper components, they would change the firmware to suit the player. So different variants of firmware would not work on other players.
