Default Windows is unable to locate a driver

Yuppy, we are! I bought a generic MP4 player from china, off of Ebay for my son for x-mas. The day after x-mas, I get an email from an unknown person saying these are hacked (he bought 4). We have never had one before and arent sure what to do. He says to go to this site, being the yuppys we are, I dont know what to do. We havent started to download any music to it. (Iam not sure it is hacked) I did try to download to my computer the firmware, but it says my server is not compatible or something.

I plugged the MP4 into the USB cable with the computer and it says windows is unable to locate a driver for this device. So what do I do?? Where do I start? Please help, my son really wants this to work. Thanks!!

Most mp4 players from china use generic usb drive drivers. What OS are you using? and could you put a picture of the player up for us to see?

I have been going through this site and found that mine looks identical to the 2nd gen. nano clone. I followed the steps provided and took it apart and found the serial number to be Samsung 737 K9G8G08U0M PCBO.
Does that make any sense to you? I feel like a real dope, but what is an OS? Thanks ops:

yuppyuser , the Samsung K9G8G08U0M is a 1GigaByte memory chip, so if you were sold a "higher capacity" player than 1GB, it has been hacked.

What is your player's screen size?

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

T39 doesn''t sound as good as my T29

I was told in the description when I bought this, that it was a 4GB memory chip. Why do people do that? There was no disk that came with the player and my computer is unable to download the AMV convert tool, so ther isnt anything I can do with it. :x

My screen size is just barely over 1 inch in lenght and 1 inch across.
