Default All files display as "oooo.." after unhacking play

I unhacked the supposed 8gb player. Of course it was 1gb. But now there another problem.

When I try to go into the Local Folder to search for my files heres what happens.

All files are writen this way

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Theres no way to see what file is what. But the Player is working. I can read the files titles when im playing them, as I can skip from file to file. But in the Local folder they only appear as ooooooooooooooooooooo

Anyone know what I can do to fix this ??

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, and thanks for this great site!

Hi enola,

Welcome to the site and glad you like MyMPxPlayer.org .

Humm, haven't seen this problem before but here are some things to try:

1. Try plugging your player into ANOTHER computer altogether and see if that computer also displays the file names as "ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo".

2. Try formatting your player again. See if that fixes the problem.

3. What file system is the player in? Is it FAT32, FAT or NTFS? Try formatting it through Windows instead as well. Try using FAT32 instead to see if that helps.

Try those and let me know of the outcome.

Thanks you for you support, site as been lots of help for me.

1. When I browse from a computer its perfect, the problem is when I try to browse withing the player in LocalFolder.

2. I already tryed to format it a couple times

3. Now im trying, and a weird thing just happened.

Says windows couldnt do the format ( it is still format but 0 KB free)
Trying to format with mp3tool and now it says "No detected removable disk blah blah.."

Now im trying repluging the player and see
ok now mp3tool see it

but now gona retry to format with windowsfat32 ( should I quick format or normal format with theses players?)

Good, Format completed

Putting files back on, 1 song, 2 movies
Ive putten them all in the ROOT folder, (no folder)
Everyting is fine from the computer browser, now gona check the player.

Conclusion, it is the same..

I can read the mp3, but when I browse into the root folder of the player I see only ooooooooooooooooooooooo (cannot read the title from the browser)

Same for movies, it works, i see the title, but when im browsing the root folder I see only
