Default Volume down = volume up?

I have encountered something strange with my brand new mp4 player which is a Super-Talent Vidego28 (I got it 2 days ago). For its first 2 days of use on the 1st and 2nd of January, it worked fine and I even out loaded it with music, videos, and pictures.
But early this morning I was listening to music on it in speaker mode and come across an unequalized song of mine, I go to press the volume down button and it ended up increasing the volume... which was odd I thought considering it turned the volume down just fine before.

So I tried many things: restarting the player, soft resetting the player, hard reset, formating, firmware backup and then reload, & different firmware. But to no avail the volume down button still increases volume and the only way to get the volume back down to 20 is by doing a soft reset...

Is there any way to fix this without opening the player or do I have to send it in for warranty? (I do not wish to void my warranty just yet)
