Default Attempting to try "remove hack" on VX858LE Clone

I just got my VX858 LE clone (supposed to be 8GB) and I am pretty sure it's legit, capacity is showing as 7.72GB.

However, I opened up MP3 Player Disk Tool (ver 4.15) and I get

Not detected removable disk, please check the disk connecting, or reboot system!

I click OK and get it once more, and click OK, then get into the program.

It shows me G: Capacity 3834.50 MB Total Sectors 7853056

click "low" format, then go to the next tab (partition and encrypt) and the slider doesn't move AT ALL.

So what is the problem? I think the player is legit but wondering why I can't do this. Is this incompatible with RockChip or this specific player? Is there any other way to do this test using a different program?

Thanks, full review for player coming soon.

The MP3 Player Disk Tool is incompatible with RockChip,
it's for Actions or ipod clones.

I think your player is probably O.K., there haven't been ANY rockchips hacked yet..

Default Re: Attempting to try "remove hack" on VX858LE Clo

Thanks for the help, I haven't filled it but just ran the player through the gauntlet and it is pretty great, everything working as it should save for Tetris which seems eternally stuck on PAUSE (no big deal)

Videos look awesome, touchscreen very responsive, probably because the firmware is very recent right out of the box:

Version is 00.00.0012
Date 2007-12-13

I am going to take your advice and wait for dancemammal's extractor since this firmware doesn't seem to line up with any of the OEM stuff posted on here and MP4Nation, but it is working fine and seems recent. Modding can wait as long as it's working good.

I'll post a full review tonight, thanks.
