Default Computer not reconizing my player

Hey guyzz my mp4 player was fine and was connecting but some time later the default cable lost its connectivity and i had to go for a new one. I buyed a Original DKE-2 Cable for Nokia 6300. same pin as for my player.( ALSO the default cable could cannect the nokia 6300 only for 2-3 days)
..............

Damm i cut the old wire saw the pins, i removed the pins and connected directly in the slot i think it shortted the SLOT..(that time my pc computer was running then i saw a red spark small(tiny) one)(i saw charging screen)

Now the new cable could connect the mobile and my mp4 player only for charging not for browsing or uploading ....

Can any1 help is it my cable prblem or the slot but slot looks fine inside no connections loose.

THANXX

Was there a spark from the MP4 player mini-usb port or the computers actual usb port?

If it was the computers usb port just try another usb port at the back of your computer.

If it was the MP4 player mini-usb port then I am not to sure on what you can do- you could possibly get a new mini-usb port from say an electronic shop.

Your "new" cable is probably bad too. I don't think that short you caused killed the player's data lines, try another cable.
