Re: New help
Are you saying that you want to hard wire a new chip inside of your box, or are trying to purchase an sd or micro sd card, and install it?
Eitherway, I think the main way you'd get nand cards is via a reseller with quintuple mark up, so it' be really expensive to get just one. |
Re: New help
well i want a nand :P that all i know i dont really know what kind is in the ipod right now :/ sd or no sd i know that its a (8gbit) = 1 Gb inside right now and i want a (32gbit) = 4gb that i can put just beside it its an extra spot for one and what i need is to find a seller....
isnt there any way i can get one cheap? where do they use this stuff ? in what things ? maby i can take it out somthing old i have.. and dose it really have to be nand flash? http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Ipod_Na...fore_you_start |

and this works on a mp3 player how should i weld it ? do i have to crack it open or somthing?
|
If you've never done this before, you have a HIGH likliness of messing everything up!
Be careful about it, but what you would need is solder, and a soldering iron. Especially with little bitty technology, you'd want to be careful, as it's a horribly delicate operation. Unless it's the simple matter of removing, and replacing a chip, which, based on the technicality of the link you provided, seems to be evident. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldering_iron http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solder |
Re: New help
well i have that shit and my friend will weld it, he can weld really good haha:P, he knows how but still i want to know how am i supposed to weld it should i open the chip u send me and take it out and the weld ? or what i dont understand :P
|
Not sure, really, the only way I can think to try, is to just get the cheapest one possible, and sacrifice it for the sake of testing.
See, the link that's on the uncyclopedia site is a hack for putting a hard drive up to it, not replacing the chip. REPLACING would either mean cutting, and resoldering, which would be exceedingly difficult, or simply pulling out a chip, and sliding in a new one in it's place, which is more likely NOT going to be right. This sounds like a horribly complicated project that really wouldn't be worth your time or effort, in my opinion. |
Re: New help
the thing is that it has an empty space just beside it so i can just try to put it in there?
and why i want to do this is becouse 1 gb is to little for me -.- Really gratefull for the help :D |
Re: New help
