Mpx won't load

I have just bought a Cheapo mp3 player off Ebay ( yep I know but put it down to old age )
Anyway I have managed to load it with about 40 odd mp3s and they work fine but the player will not allow me to load any more it has plenty of space it's a 4 gig so I am wondering if the firmware on the little beast has gone A W A L

The only details I have is it looks like a Nano but has no name on it or the instruction book on the player its self the firmware shows as

Firmware V
MP3 Player LKC_9112_V30
2007-08-14
9.1.52
2005-01009

can anyone offer this old Rock fan any idea's what's wrong and how I might go about fixing it ????

Hi Twiggy. Unfortunately it sounds like your player has been hacked. Many players off of eBay have been hacked to read more memory that there really is. Follow the instructions posted here: How To: Removing a Memory Hack

If it is hacked. Contact the seller immediately. Chances are good that he knows this and will try to blame it on you for formatting your player. Formatting your player does NOT mess it up. The ONLY reason sellers say that is because they don't want buyers to discover the hack. If the seller offers to give you a refund if you ship the player back to him, don't do it. Chances are you will never see your money or another player again. Open a dispute through Paypal stating the item is not as described.

Guess you can tell I've been through this before. Hope my advice helps.

I wondered the same after reading the site but I bought 2 one for me and 1 for the wife hers is fine and loads well over 2 gig my one however did show a trojan when checked with AVG anti Virus

The other strange thing is that the software Mini disk it came with also had a virus on it from the start
I did write to the seller and to ebay who used their stock answer " contact the seller" the seller replied with the 3 words SORRY THANK YOU
so it seems I am stuffed as the purchase was back in January and I have only just decided to up date the music

If this is a Hack and I remove the music on their should it then allow me to load the same amount again as I will try that and see failing that is it just a throw away job or can it be used in some way
