my mp4's memory has crashed from 8GB to 108MB!!
hey, i have some problems with my mp4 (8gb).
i used this program (MP3 Utilities v3.68) to create partition for my player. after i did it, everytime i connect the mp4 to the computer - windows "tells" me that my mp4 has only 100mb memory!!! how can i fix it? how can i remove the partition? any help is welcome!!! thank you. |
Hi, follow the guide found here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html
I would say that your player had a hacked memory. What ever capacity you have after following the guide is your players real memory. I think your player might only have an 128mb flash memory chip. |
To follow up on what nzer_4_lyf mentioned. You can also double check by opening up your player and checking out the make/model number of the memory chip.

i'm sorry guys, i read everything and i couldnt find how to remove the partition.
everyone just said: "Do NOT partition player. Ever" but what can i do now? i folowed the lattesurf's guide (i saw it on some place else), and that why the memory was down. can you be more specific? what sould i do? edit: i dont think my real player's memory is 110mb, becouse before i created the partition i had some big files in there (about 500mb). so, can you tell waht the problem is? |
Unfortunately, then it is true; your player only contains 128MB.
Whoever you bought it from tricked you by hacking the player so that it appears to be 8GB. Try and get a full refund. :( |

Re: my mp4's memory has crashed from 8GB to 108MB!!
Yes, your edit explained that you had files that were 500mb on there. That is a trick of these hacked players. When you "store" files on there, the folder will display on your player as if it is there, but trust me, the whole 500mb is not there if you've only got a 128mb player. The file INFORMATION is there so that it LOOKS like you're actually storing the file, but you are not.
I bought 2 "8gb" players from sellers on ebay a couple of weeks ago. One received had a 64mb chip in it!!! meaning I can store about 8 songs because the firmware takes up around 18mb leaving me with 46mb lol. the other had 1gb. If you open your player and look at the actual memory chip, I would lay big money down that you'll find that the numbers printed on it correspond to a 128 mb chip. It's probably not Samsung either, though I bet the description on the item you one listed it as 8gb samsung memory. This isn't a "problem" with your player, it is a problem with the seller, or whoever they got the player from. I was so pissed to find mine to be 1gb and 64mb. I was at least hoping that the seller had hacked 2gb players to show 8gb, that way they'd still be a little bit more useful. What am I gonna do with 46mb of usable space? In the process of trying to get a full refund now. woohoo |
noambirnboim,
If you can, open your player and send us some photos of it. Particularly, the MEMORY CHIP as it should have some model numbers on it which you can check up to find what size it really is. |
