Just three stupid questions

The reason I ask is I cannot find "search" option in this forum. :(
The questions are:
1. I've just bought a player
LX27007_B
2007 01 17
ACT_v9.0.4x

And: first - it does not understand ID3V2 tags (even in English). Second - it does not understand russian fonts at all (though russian language is available in settings menu).
Will new firmware change anything? If yes - what version should I take?
And finally: can I add games to games list? (got only sokoban and tetris).
Hope I will not be banned at once... :(

Hi and welcome to the board. I do not know much about the tags, so perhaps someone else knows.

I can tell you this. Do NOT upgrade or change your firmware. You will most likely brick your player.

I don't think you can add games to your player.

Why would you think you would be banned? That is what this board is here for, to help others.

Sorry, I'm not more help, but those are things I haven't tried on mine.

Hi Rikki-tikki-tavi,

The "search" option on this forum is located on the LEFT HAND SIDE MENU bar. There is a link called "Search Site" on the left hand side.

The firmware version you mentioned --> ACT_v9.0.4x tells me it's an ACTIONS chipset player. As far as I know, Actions chipset players don't support ID3V2 tags. Where did you learn that your player supports this? I would be interested to know if they have released a version that does support it but as far as I know, the Actions chipset players doesn't support ID3V2 tags.

The Russian language, it does sound strange that it's listed but you can't use it. What you can try is this:
1. Download s1fwx (available in the "Downloads" link on the left hand side in the "Tools" section). Use it to extract the firmware of you player.

2. If you are able to extract your player's firmware, then proceeed further.

3. Use the s1res tool to open the file.

4. There you should be able to redo the language file in the firmware file and rewrite it to include the Russian letters. I searched our site but unfortunately no one has done the translation for the Russion language yet.

Hope that helps.

Looks pretty complicated for me. Thanks anyway.

Too bad... An attempt of extracting finishes with mistake. :(
