MP4 Player Chipset Check
 

How can I tell what chipset my MP4 player has? I know my last one has a Sigmatel chipset, which made it pretty much impossible to customize. This new one, although it looks similar, I seriously doubt has a Sigmatel chipset. How can I tell and be sure?

Hi Skyline969,

Click on the [Downloads] link on the left hand side menu bar.
Then choose "Tools".

There, you should find a download called "Tool: Chip Genius - Check USB Chip Model".

Try downloading that as that should tell you what chipset your player is.

Also, you can check by looking at the FIRMWARE version within your player's "Setup" menu.
